"Be who you are and not what others want you to be"
I've come across this phrase for a few times,
I was quite agree and never really have a doubt on this phrase before.
If someone is asking me to change, I will surely reply them with this phrase.
Perhaps I misused the phrase as the phrase might not mean that way.
Not long ago, I heard a saying from a friend of mine, unplanned.
He told me that:
"No one will ever stay the same forever,
Human will change from time to time.
Are the current you remained the same as the one you saw in you 10 years ago?
Why not take a step to change when people commented and if it is something good? "
At that moment, I suddenly felt a slap on my face to wake me up.
It is indeed quite true.
Change happens in every stage of life and is a process of growth.
People often asked,
If you changed, will you still be the real you?
But what is the real you actually?
Is the real you, the one you have set what you should be?
Is the real you, the one you think you should be whenever it makes you feel comfortable?
Or is the real you, the one of what others think you should be?
There seems no definite definition to define what is the real you.
The world never revolves around you,
Sometimes, when things doesn't go in the way we want,
We would most probably have to change the way we want things to be.
Sometimes, when we know our own weakness and the way to correct it is there,
Why not make a change and get it correct?
People will not be commenting and ask for a change if it is not necessarily.
Is just the matter if we are willing to take the first step to the change.
Undeniably, human are always afraid of changes.
Either the external change or the change in yourselves.
However, if ones is too comfort in his/her comfort zone,
How would ones grows?
Hmm, something to ponder about?
P/S: Anyhow, it's always good to go with the average. Never be too extreme in the way you think and react. Try to listen and change when it is needed and at the same time never try to lose yourselves in the change. :)
